Goodmate Barista Oat Milk: 5 Ways to Use It Beyond Coffee

"Barista" on an oat milk carton means one specific thing: it's been formulated to froth and hold texture the way dairy does, instead of splitting or thinning out under heat and pressure. That makes Goodmate Barista Oat Milk useful for a lot more than the one drink it's usually bought for. Here's exactly how much to use for each.

1. Iced Thai tea

You need: 200ml brewed, cooled Thai tea + 60ml Goodmate Barista Oat Milk + ice.

Steps: Fill a glass three-quarters with ice, pour in the tea, then slowly pour the oat milk over the back of a spoon so it floats on top instead of mixing straight in. Don't stir before serving.

2. Matcha lattes

You need: 3g matcha + 60ml hot water (80°C) + 150ml Goodmate Barista Oat Milk.

Steps: Whisk the matcha and hot water into a smooth paste first (see our matcha whisking guide for the exact technique). Meanwhile, heat the oat milk and froth it with a handheld frother or a jar-shake-and-microwave method for 30 seconds until foamy. Pour the frothed milk over the whisked matcha.

3. Nitro coffee concentrate, without dairy

You need: 1 pod (16g) Nitro Coffee Concentrate + 150–200ml Goodmate Barista Oat Milk + ice.

Steps: Dissolve the concentrate pod in a splash of hot water first, then top up with the oat milk over ice. The barista formulation won't split the way regular oat milk can under coffee's acidity. Full flavour options in our Nitro Coffee Concentrate range.

4. Overnight oats

You need: 40g rolled oats + 150ml Goodmate Barista Oat Milk + 1 tsp chia seeds (optional).

Steps: Combine everything in a jar, stir well, cover, and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight. The barista formulation's higher fat content keeps it creamy instead of watery by morning.

5. Straight, over ice, with a pinch of cinnamon

You need: 200ml Goodmate Barista Oat Milk + ice + a small pinch of cinnamon.

Steps: Pour over ice, dust the cinnamon on top, stir once. It's sweet enough on its own that it doesn't need syrup.
