Frequently asked questions

Are your products original and imported?

Yes. Every product we sell is a genuine branded product in its original packaging. We never repack, relabel or split packs. Our range comes from trusted brands in Japan, Korea, Thailand and Taiwan, and we are an FSSAI-licensed business.

How long does delivery take?

Orders are dispatched within 1–2 business days and usually delivered in 3–7 business days, depending on your city. We deliver across India. You get tracking details by SMS/email once your order ships, and can also use Track Your Order.

Is delivery free?

Yes, delivery is free on orders above ₹499. For smaller orders a flat ₹100 delivery charge applies, shown clearly at checkout before you pay.

What payment options do you offer?

Pay by UPI, debit/credit card, net banking or wallets and get an extra 5% off on all prepaid orders. Cash on Delivery is also available with a small advance at checkout.

What if my order arrives damaged or wrong?

If you receive a damaged, leaking, expired or wrong item, email thehouseofumami@gmail.com or WhatsApp +91 93725 37282 within 36 hours of delivery with your order number and photos/video. We will send a replacement or refund you. As these are food products, we cannot accept returns for change of mind.

Which matcha should I buy?
  • Ceremonial grade (Kyo Uji, Kyo Ceremonial, Maruyama): for drinking whisked with water, the traditional way.
  • Culinary / Premium grade (Kyo Culinary, Kyo Premium): for lattes, smoothies and baking.

How do I use gochujang at home?

Quick gochujang stir-fry: mix 1 tbsp gochujang, 2 tbsp soy sauce and 1 tsp sesame oil. Stir-fry 200g vegetables with paneer, tofu or chicken, add the sauce, toss for 2 minutes and serve with rice or noodles. More ideas in our recipes.
